The Qoob SX BIOS itself is very straight foreward and stable as it has never crashed on me. First I will cover upgrading the onboard BIOS to the latest version. First you must upgrade using the ELF file (not the GCB file). To upgrade to the latest BIOS via Network using streaming you must first boot the Qoob SX onboard BIOS while holding "D-Pad-Left" + "B" and then stream the file over. Please remember that the Qoob SX chip uses 192.168.1.32 as it's IP and there is NO way to change this, yet. To upgrade via DVDR simply make a DVD readable, boot the Qoob SX BIOS while holding "D-Pad-Left". Once it's updated to the most recent version you're good to go.

When you first turn on your system with the latest BIOS you are greated by the Qoob SX screen and two options. If no media is intserted it will say just that, but this gives you a good idea that your BIOS is functioning. As you can see the two options are to access the Main Menu by pressing 'B' or to run a Disc Media Check by holding 'A' on the gamepad.

To boot either a backup or an original disc simply insert the media and turn your GameCube on and it will auto-mattically detect which type of media you have inserted and boot it without the need to swap.

To run the Disc Media Check simply hold 'A' on bootup and it will run the check. As you can see I tried to run the check using an original disc and it failed.

While booting if you press 'B' the Main Menu will come up which will allow you to boot the media in the drive or configure your Qoob SX BIOS.

After accessing the configuration menu you can change certain options.

Streamfix - If you were one of the unforunate people who used one of the many faulty audio fixing applications to try to correct your audio streaming games Qoob has been kind enough to let you disable the built in audio fix so you can listen to the games you tried to fix and hear all the nice sound distortions.

DRE Workaround - Will let you toggle between different DRE fixes

Disc Swap Support - Toggle disc swapping support

IGR - In game reset toggle

Video Mode: Game - Try to force this video mode in the game

Video Mode: Qoob - Select a video mode for your Qoob BIOS

Hide Texts - Don't show text messages from BIOS

One of the nice features of the Qoob Pro BIOS is the ability to browse ISO-9660 Joliet DVD-ROM's which you can fill with GameCube applications (DOL, ELF, GCB, VGC). Simply use our DVD creation guide and then power on the Cube and the BIOS will give you a menu of the applications you have burnt. Simply pick an application to execute and you're good to go!

The Qoob Pro BIOS also features the ability to boot Multi-Image Discs created with LooneyCube's utility. Simply boot the system and the BIOS will give you a menu of what games you can execute.

To do an In Game Reset (IGR) press and hold L+R+START and your game might reset back to the BIOS. This really depends on the game so it might not work all the time.

You can also stream applications/games to the Qoob BIOS and can also backup images from it. Please see our Streaming and our Backup guides to see how this can be done.
