GCOM BIOS |
![]() GCOM v2.2 GCOM's main purpose was to backup original games for legitimate purposes until v2.01 was released. GCOM now features the ability to boot these backups along with multi-image disc games. As the qualifications for a BIOS has been met I've added it to the BIOS collection. Features * Game Backup Booting * MultiGame Backup Support * DVD +R / -R Support * Audio Fix * DRE Fixes & Workarounds * Disc Ripping up to 2600kbps * DOL Sending up to 1800kbps * DOL Loading from DVD * Still fits as a Viper Plugin * Z PAL mode To create the DOL file you can use to boot with your softmod and/or modchip of choice simply run the GCOM2CONFIG executable file from either your Windows or Linux machines and specify the IP addressess you're going to be using. Example (WINDOWS): GCOM2Config -pcip 192.168.1.100 -gcip 192.168.1.32 -mask 255.255.255.0 This will create a GCOM2.DOL file which you can now use with your softmod or hardmod. Additionally, you can convert the GCOM2.DOL into a Cobra BIOS plug-in and run it from your Viper GC modchip. If you wish to create it into a Cobra Plug-In please read this guide. After booting the DOL file you'll be presented with a menu where you can choose to either boot your backup or backup an image. If you choose to backup and image which will also let you stream DOL files please refer to the Backup and/or Streaming guides on information how to do this. If you have chose the boot your backup GCOM will ask you to put in your disc and then will go through a lengthy mounting process. When it's done it will prompt you to boot using the default display or to force NTSC/PAL. Pick whichever display you wish to boot in and then the game will boot. |
